Special & Regular Members Workshop

The Boston Chapter of Ikenobo Ikebana hosted the 2025 Special & Regular Members workshop at

the Doubletree Hotel in Cambridge from October 10-12.

We were privileged to have Professor Kanrai Iguchi, an Extraordinary Professor of Ikenobo

Professor Iguchi has been teaching ikenobo ikebana for 50 years. He is also the author of Susuki no Uta ("The Song of Pampas Grass")His hobbies include reading, ceramics and skiing. Hi favorite flowers are sunflowers and iris laevigata (kakitsubata)

The first day’s workshop was on the shoka curriculum, with the Professor producing isshuike, nishuike and sanshuike. The second day focussed on Rikka Simputai and the third on a Jiyuka surface design
